Ironman events across the U.K might have been cancelled but that didn’t stop us! On Saturday 11th September, Bravehearts Owner Steven McMillan and members Kenny Hill and Jim Allen replicated the Ironman event. After swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and completing a 26.2-mile run, the three Bravehearts crossed the finish line at 4am on Sunday at Strathclyde Park, Hamilton.
Steven McMillan said:
“What an achievement for us all but especially for our very own Kenny Hill! Kenny has trained for over a year with this event in mind! He overcame many serious health problems and lost over 16 stone in weight. We were disappointed that the official event was cancelled but didn’t let that stop us from competing for ourselves!
What made this even more special was the support from other Braveheart members…..many of our team turned up along the way to offer support and they even waited at 4am on Sunday morning for us to cross the finish line…..what a team! Again, showing that we are more than just a gym!”
